How to buy using SEPA

Introduction

There are a lot of things you can do with cryptocurrencies. If you are entirely new to this process it can seem tricky and intimidating. The process and the measures that come with it, are needed to make sure that the world of cryptocurrencies is safe and protected. Understanding this process is a vital part and can prevent a lot of frustration. Once you are familiar with blockchain transactions you will notice that participating in the world of cryptocurrency is not that difficult after all.

Your personal wallet

When you buy cryptocurrency on our website, we ask for the coin address of your wallet. Please note that Anycoin Direct is not a wallet provider! Meaning you can not store your coins on our website and you need to set up your own wallet. Every coin has it’s own variety of wallets and we urge you to find the wallet, that is best suited to your needs. For more information regarding our coins and their recommended wallets, check our 'Coins' category.

Buying your cryptocurrencies step-by-step

Want to buy cryptocurrency on Anycoin Direct using SEPA? Step-by-step, this guide will help you navigate through the process.

All our available coins can be found here and on the 'Buy order' page.

Step 1: Enter your amount

Once you have selected the coin you would like to buy, you will see the following screen:

Here you can enter the quantity (amount) of the coins you would like to receive or the amount of euro’s you are willing to spend on buying the cryptocurrency. When you enter the amount of cryptocurrency, or the amount of euro’s, the opposite value will automatically show up adjusted to the current rate. Examples of this are presented in the following two scenario’s:

Scenario 1:

You want to buy for an amount of €100, the opposite quantity will automatically update to the current rate. In this case: 0.04272475 Bitcoin.*

Scenario 2:

You want to buy for an amount of 0,05 bitcoin, the opposite quantity will automatically update to the current price. In this case: €116.98.*

Please note, the actual price is updated every thirty seconds. When you enter the amount (in the quantity field) the current price will be calculated automatically.

Step 2: Entering the correct coin address (wallet)

This is a very important step when you are planning on buying cryptocurrency. You need to provide your own personal coin address, which is linked to your personal wallet. This unique coin address consists of a combination of letters and numbers. In the ‘buy order’ screen we will ask for this specific coin address (wallet). By entering your personal coin address, the coins will be transferred to your wallet. Always make sure that you do not type, but copy the address!

If you want more information about the coin itself, we advise you to take a look at the ‘info’ section at the bottom of every coin's buy order page. This section is always present for every available coin. It provides information like the coin’s website, advisable wallets and more details in general. For more information regarding our coins and their recommended wallets, check our 'Coins' category.

Coin address warning!

Check and double check, because if the order is successful, the coins will be transferred to the address that you provided. Once the transaction is in the blockchain, the process is irreversible. When you provide us the wrong address, we can not retrieve the coins.

Step 3: Selecting SEPA as your payment method

After entering the quantity and your personal coin address, you need to choose SEPA as your preferred payment method from the available options. SEPA transactions are normal online bank transfers. SEPA is the only option in the list, that is supported by every country in the European Union. All banks, that have an online bank option, should be able to offer SEPA as a payment method.

Unlocking SEPA/Giropay

Once the ID documents have been approved, the following payment methods will be unlocked:

  • SEPA
  • GiroPay

Uploading these documents can be done anytime, at any level, even your account level is 1.

Step 4: Completing the payment with SEPA

When you have entered all the required fields and options, you will see an order overview at the bottom of the page. The amount of coins that you see on this page, is the amount of coins that you will receive in your wallet (if everything is entered correctly and the order is successful). When you agree to our terms and conditions, which can be read when you click on the ‘terms and agreements’ link, you can proceed to the final step. Once you have created the order and press the ‘Buy’ button, it is time to pay for the coins. A twenty minute timer will be activated. The payment must be completed before the timer reaches ‘0:00’.

When you have chosen SEPA as your payment method, you need to log in to your online bank account. Keep the page of your online bank account ready, before you press the ‘Buy’ button. Once you press the ‘Buy’ button, a new page will be displayed. This page will show you all the relevant information that you are going to need for the payment and is divided into three sections.

  1. Payment details: In this section you can see all the relevant payment information. First you see our IBAN bank account number. You need to wire the payment to this IBAN number. The other details include the name of our company, the BIC number, the amount you must transfer and last but not least the payment subject. This payment subject always consists of the letters ACD followed by a [SPACE], followed by the first part of your order ID. The payment subject in this field is always correct and corresponds directly to your order of that exact moment. Copy this text (payment subject) directly into your SEPA online bank transfer (in the same field, payment subject), to make sure that your order is processed automatically.
  2. 'I have paid' and 'Cancel order' buttons: After the completion of the payment, the 'I have paid' button must be clicked to process your order. If you want to cancel the order, you need to press the red 'Cancel order' button.
  3. Order information: This sections shows you all the information about the order. The entire order ID, the date and time of creation, the amount of coins you will receive etc. At the bottom of this section you will also see the status of your order.

Wire the payment to Anycoin Direct with your online bank account and use the information presented in 1. Payment details. Once we receive the SEPA payment in our bank account, we will transfer the coins to the wallet that you provided. SEPA transactions can take up to two working day, for the payment to be visible in our bank account.

An example of this page is displayed below:

'I have paid' Button

Once you have completed the payment, you need to press the big, green ‘I have paid’ button. Clicking this button ensures that you will get the cryptocurrency price of that moment and lets us know that you completed the payment. Since SEPA transactions take two working days to process (for the payment to arrive on our bank account), we offer you the cryptocurrency price of the exact moment you created the buy order. The 'I have paid' button will lock this price. An important feature in the ever-changing and volatile world of cryptocurrency. When you press this button, you enter an agreement to purchase these coins. The coins are locked, so cancelling the order is not an option. More information regarding this can be found in our terms and agreements.
