The hardware wallet
In some cases, coins can be stored on a specially designed device called a ‘hardware wallet’. There are a few manufacturers which produce these devices. Not all cryptocurrencies can be stored in these hardware wallets. Which coins can and can’t be stored are decided by the (hardware wallet) manufacturers themselves. To use a hardware wallet, you need to make a personal backup phrase consisting of a sequence of random words. This backup phrase is your security code. This sequence of random words corresponds with your private keys. If you lose this wallet or if the device breaks, you will always have the backup phrase to regenerate the wallet on another device.
In the figure below you will see a Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. This device can store multiple cryptocurrencies and enables you to make a backup of the coins with a backup phrase. Please make sure that you order this device on the official website: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/ or an official retailer (visible on the Ledger website).
In the figure below you will see a Trezor hardware wallet. This device can store multiple cryptocurrencies and enables you to make a backup of the coins with a backup phrase. Please make sure that you order this device on the official website: https://trezor.io/ or an official retailer (visible on the Trezor website).
In the figure below you can see an example of the hardware wallet recovery phrase. This random sequence of words needs to be written down first before you can configure and use the device. If you lose the device, this recovery phrase (random sequence of words) will help you recover your cryptocurrency on another device. Make sure that you write this backup phrase on a piece of paper and keep it somewhere safe.
Although we recommend these wallets, we are not responsible for any issues or problems regarding that specific wallet. Anycoin Direct is not a wallet provider. You can not store coins on our website. If you do have any issues regarding the wallet itself, we advise you to contact their customer support.
The wallets we recommend can change due to the fact that all these technologies are in constant development.
